Casey has many years of experience in the industry obtaining his journeyman carpentry certificate in 1977. Starting in the housing industry, Casey was the first Master Builder in Kamloops on the original Home Warranty program. From 1993 to 1997 Casey worked as a Construction Manager for a developer and gained experience in multifamily, private and development projects. In the past few years Casey has had the design-build responsibility for several large complex care communities and recently a P3 project – Library Square – in Kamloops, consisting of a public library (Platinum LEED), commercial space and residential 5-story privately owned wood frame apartments above it all. It is Kamloops’ first Air Space subdivision and first 6-story wood building to be constructed in B.C. since the concept was introduced to the BC Building Code. To stay abreast of current trends and regulations, Casey attends numerous seniors housing conferences in Toronto and Vancouver. He recently presented at the BC Building Officials conference on the subject of 6-story wood construction.
