Two new Public Restroom Facilities for Northbound and Southbound traffic located just south of the Coquihalla Toll Booths. Project includes new buildings, water treatment, reservoir and wastewater treatment, including whitewater treatment. Reclaimed water will be used to flush toilets and urinals.
This innovative concept of Arden Consulting Engineers involved treating the wastewater to a standard such that it could be reclaimed and used as non-potable water to flush toilets and urinals. This approach drastically reduced the size of the disposal field and eliminated the need to drill additional water wells. This worked very well for the mountainous region with less than favourable subsurface conditions and was less invasive to the environment.
